Armidale Class Patrol Boat Crew Assail Two

Assail Two is the second of six crews and four Armidale class patrol boats that will form the Assail Division, based in Darwin.

Assail Two formed up on the 29 May 2006 and commissioned HMAS Maitland in Newcastle on 29 September 2006, the sixth of the ACPBs to be introduced into service.

The role of Assail Two is to provide one of six rotational crews for HMA Ships Pirie, Maitland, Ararat and Broome - the ACPBs that make up the Assail Division. Together with the other crews, our role will be to primarily to provide vital border protection against illegal fishing and people smuggling in Australia's Northern waters.
