Armidale Class Patrol Boat Crew Attack Three
Attack Three is one of six crews in the Attack Division. The Division is home ported in Darwin and operates the Royal Australian Navy's new Armidale Class Patrol Boats (ACPB). Attack Threes primary mission is to provide surveillance and response in frontline border protection for Australia, including the prevention of illegal fishing and immigration.
On 10 February 2006, Attack Three commissioned the ACPB HMAS Bathurst. The RAN has had a long association with the city and people of Bathurst, particularly during World War II and now with HMAS Bathurst. As part of this association, Bathurst Regional Council extended 'Freedom of Entry to the City of Bathurst' to HMAS Bathurst. This allowed Attack Three to march through the city "with swords drawn and drums beating"
