Arunta Sailors on a Lucky Break

HMAS Arunta (Commander John Stavridis) is on a winning streak after the RANCCF ‘Win with Navy’ raffle was won by two Arunta sailors in a row.
ABMT David Munckton and ABCIS Stewart Chivers both won the fortnightly raffle, with a prize pool of $5000 cash, tax free.
Nearly 3,000 sailors have joined the raffle so far, so it is a happy coincidence that two sailors from the same ship could win the raffle two fortnights in a row.
Both sailors registered for the ‘Win with Navy’ raffle online, when it was first made available last year. “A mate asked me if I was in on the raffle and I thought that it is for a good cause and is a small amount, so thought why not?” said AB Munckton.
AB Chivers said that when he received the phone call from ‘Win with Navy’ that he had won that he was in shock. “This prize is the most I have ever won! But I am going to be sensible and put it on the mortgage”.
AB Munckton couldn’t believe that ‘Win with Navy’ was serious when he received a phone call to inform him that he had won the raffle prize. “That is amazing!”
Recently engaged AB Munkton laughed when asked about his plans for the raffle prize. “Well, I will pay a few bills and the rest will go in a saving account.”
There have been 18 winners to date and RANCCF hopes to soon be able to offer a brand new car as a prize.
The ‘Win with Navy’ Raffle is only open to currently serving RAN personnel (PN and CFTS).
Persons under the age of 18 are not eligible to enter.
Tickets are $2.00 each with a max spend of $10.00 per fortnight ($10.00 will give you 6 tickets in every draw).
Simply fill in the online form and RANCCF will start an allotment for you.
