HMAS Dechaineux, based at Fleet Base West, Rockingham, WA, has been making a splash recently while showing the families of crew members an insight into life at sea. Dechaineux embarked family members of the crew and sailed out past Rottnest Island to give the families a taste of the the seagoing life of their loved ones. Dechaineux was captured in these images by a helicopter as she dived.

"It is a very important thing for our crew to have the support of their families while we are away, so this is one way that we can engage families and show them a little of what goes on under the waves" said Commander Jason Cupples, Commanding Officer of HMAS Dechaineux.
