Take time out from city shopping this Saturday morning and cruise to the sounds of the Royal Australian Navy Band - Queensland Detachment.

Eighteen of Queensland’s finest musicians form the Detachment’s Stage Band element which will entertain you for an unforgettable two hours with a mix of swing, jazz and popular songs as performed by stars such as Glen Miller, Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble.

The free recital is part of the celebrations of Navy Week 2009 in South Queensland, which includes a public Open Day on board HMAS Newcastle, also on Saturday. The RAN Band - Queensland Detachment, under the direction of Bandmaster Chief Petty Officer Andrew Stapleton, will perform this Saturday (17 October) from 10am to 12 midday in Reddacliff Place, George Street Brisbane, opposite the Treasury Casino.
