The Augusta 109E helicopter from 723 Squadron was greeted by more than 400 school children who formed the welcoming party at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence, in Redfern, on 20 August 2010.

Navy personnel based at Albatross donated thousands of books during National Homeless Persons' Week as part of the Connecting Communities initiative, a partnership between Albatross and The Benjamin Andrew Footpath Library.

CAPT King said that the Connecting Communities partnership was a perfect fit.

“We're a very community minded team and everyone was very excited to be able to get behind The Footpath Library and support a great initiative,” he said.

The book delivery was part of an event to mark the start of Children’s Book Week, which also involved sailors from HMA Ships Albatross, Stuart and Kuttabul, who escorted the children around the helicopter.
