HMAS Brunei was named after the location of a well known Australian WW2 Amphibious landing in the Pacific. Brunei is the first Australian warship to bear the name.
With the other 5 LCHs ( Balikpapan, Betano, Labuan, Tarakan and Wewak) Brunei has played a critical role in peacekeeping and resupply in Bougainville and East Timor.
