More than 1200 Royal Australian Navy personnel, Department of Defence employees, and their families, have taken part in the 4th Annual Walk to Work Day at HMAS Stirling.

The Walk to Work Day was held in conjunction with the 2nd Annual Causeway Classic foot race.

The Garden Island causeway was closed to cars during the 6.5km events to allow participants to swap their motor vehicles for running shoes as their main mode of transportation to work.

Walk to Work Day and the Causeway Classic are held annually to promote regular walking and running as a healthy activity for better physical, mental and social health.

Participants were treated to a Big Healthy Breakfast at the end of their walk/run, and the day was capped off with a carnival-themed Family Fun Day featuring rides, show bags and activities.
