70th Anniversary of the Battle of the Coral Sea
On the 7th of May 1942, HMA Ships Australia II and Hobart I were attacked by 19 Japanese land based aircraft during the Battle of the Coral Sea. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the first naval battle in history where opposing fleets were never in visual contact.
