Manoora visits the Adelaide Crows

It's not very often that sailors from Adelaide get the chance to visit their homeport, let alone visit their favourite football club. The opportunity did present itself recently for a number of personnel from HMAS Manoora. Adelaide Crows fanatic CPOB Tim Badger organised for a number of the ship's company to attend a pre-season training session.

At the grounds, Adelaide Crow's players challenged the Navy boys to a kicking competition, which the Crows only just won. ABMED Nick Cherry and ABMT Alex Edwards demonstrated their capability going up against famous names like Rhett Biglands and Ivan Maric.

After a tour of the facilities at AAMI Stadium, the Adelaide Crows were invited back to HMAS Manoora, with CPOB Badger taking the football stars on a reciprocal tour of the ship. During the tour, he explained what life is like at sea for junior sailors, many of them of a similar age to the players.

"The highlight of the day, was meeting Coach Neil Craig and discussing Navy and my favourite topic, The Adelaide Crows," said CPOB Badger.
