Naval College Ceremonial Activities

An important part of being in the Navy is an appreciation of its ceremonies and traditions. At the RANC particular pride is attached to the raising and lowering of the Australian White Ensign and Australian National Flag. The flag raising ceremony, known as "Colours", occurs at 0800, with the lowering ceremony at "Sunset". These take place every day on every ship and shore establishment throughout the RAN. The Ships Bosuns instruct on these and other RAN ceremonies during Naval Officer training.
