Beaches
Jervis Bay has some fantastic beaches, many located right here at the RANC. The main beach used by trainees, known as Captains Beach, also features a beach volleyball net for the hotter months. In summer you will find yourself taking full advantage of this and the other "Defence only" beaches around HMAS Creswell.
If you prefer a surf beach, the nearest is located only five minutes drive from the College.
Bushwalking
As the RANC is located near the Booderee National Park, there are many excellent bushwalking tracks available for you to use. This can be an excellent way to relax and get fit at the same time.
HMAS Creswell Gym
The Creswell gym has a comprehensive set of quality fitness equipment. You will spend many hours utilising the bikes, rowing machines, treadmills, cross trainers, the weights machines, the Keiser machines and the free weights. There is also a boxing station, heave beams and an outdoor military circuit. The gym is staffed during working hours by the Physical Training Staff and after hours by the duty sports hand. Various types of sporting equipment are also available for you to loan from the gym.
The Golf Course
HMAS Creswell is fortunate to feature an impressive 9-hole golf course. The course serves the essential dual task of acting as a fire break between the RANC and neighbouring Booderie National Park.
Tennis Courts
Just outside the trainees accommodation blocks you will find four full size tennis courts. These are available for use on weekends and off duty hours. For those keen Tennis players who forget to bring their racquets, you can loan racquets and balls from the Creswell Gym.
The Oval
Located just outside the Creswell Gym, the oval features the outdoor military circuit and the heave beams. For those who enjoy a game of soccer, there are also soccer nets set up on the oval.
The Quarterdeck
The HMAS Creswell Quarterdeck has multiple functions. It is used as a sports field for various games including rugby and touch, it is the RANC Parade ground and it also contains the masts where the Australian White Ensign and the Australian National Flag are flown.
