Navy Band Structure

The band incorporates a fleet of ensembles to assist in fulfilling its mission to promote the Royal Australian Navy, and comprises six detachments positioned around Australia. The Permanent Component consists of 101 full-time musicians, and the Reserve Component has 122 part-time musicians. Full-time detachments are stationed at the naval establishments HMAS Kuttabul, Potts Point, New South Wales and HMAS Cerberus, Westernport, Victoria. Part-time detachments are stationed in Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart and Perth. Small reserve support elements are embedded within each of the full-time detachments. Detachment locations are:
