ALL ABOARD FOR NAVY OPEN DAY – GARDEN ISLAND, SYDNEY

The Commanding Officer of HMAS Kuttabul invites the public to the Royal Australian Navy’s Sydney area Open Day at Garden Island this Sunday, 28 September 2008. It’s a unique opportunity for Sydneysiders to tour the base and learn about life in the Navy.

Highlights include tours of HMAS Newcastle, HMAS Manoora, HMAS Diamantina and HMAS Maryborough. A new MRH-90 helicopter will also be on display.

The RAN Band and Australia’s Federation Guard will perform and recruitment staff will be on hand to talk to anyone considering a career in the Navy.

Gates are open from 10am to 4pm. Entry is via the main gate at the corner of Cowper Wharf Road and Wylde Street. Public transport is recommended (Bus 311 from Central and Circular Quay) and parking is available at The Domain. Entry is free.
