Navy People: Variety Is The Spice Of Life

Allysha Taylor from Killarney Vale, NSW joined the Royal Australian Navy as a Chef on the 29th August 2005 at the age of 18.
She grew up in Killarney Vale attending Brooke Ave Primary School and The Entrance High. She was also a member of Shelley Beach Surf Club as a 'Nipper' in her primary school years.
Prior to joining the Royal Australian Navy Allysha worked as a kitchenhand at Cafe Pennoz. It is there that I became passionate about cooking she said.
Now 20yrs old Allysha is posted to the Main Galley at HMAS Stirling, Garden Island Western Australia.
"I love the variety in the work I do. I can put my ideas fwd and try new things. One minute I can be cooking a roast and then preparing dessert." she said.
Allysha is posting to HMAS Perth in May. HMAS Perth is an Anzac class Frigate based at HMAS Stirling. " It is my first posting to a ship and I am looking forward to travelling and the new challenges a ship will offer."
