RAN Freedom of Entry to the City of Darwin

A combined Navy contingent will exercise the right of Freedom of Entry to the City of Darwin with "Swords drawn, Drums beating, Band playing and Colours flying", in Knuckey Street at 10.00am on Saturday 11 July 2009.

HMAS Coonawarra Open Day 2009

HMAS Coonawarra will be open to the public on Sunday, 12 July 2009, 10am - 4pm.

CMDR Ainsley Morthorpe, RAN and Darwin navy personnel will welcome you aboard to experience the "real" Sea Patrol. The Navy's latest Armidale Class Patrol Boat and an Australian Customs Vessel will be open to visitors. There will be many exciting displays and demonstrations including a Boarding at Sea demonstration, the Navy Band, marching displays, boat rides, and weapons and engineering displays. For the the Grand Finale the Navy Band and HMAS Coonawarra Guard will be performing the traditional Beat to Quarters and Ceremonial Sunset. There will also be plenty of food, drinks, and entertainment for the children.
