Publication:Newcastle News Issue 1 2008/Vertical Launch System Installation

A significant milestone in the FFG Upgrade Combat System program was achieved when the Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile Vertical Launching System was installed in the early hours of the 21 June 2008. Having capitalised on the experiences of the previous three Upgraded FFGs, the entire operation went very smoothly from the initial safety brief at 0500 to finally lowering the module into the Ship at 0700.
