Publication:The Fearless Times Issue 1 2009/Operation SLIPPER Departure

Amid the tears and the waves of farewell, HMAS Toowoomba departed her home at Fleet Base West on Tuesday 09th June 2009 at 1100, to head North to the waters of the Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, and the Gulf of Aden to take part in Operation SLIPPER.

During our deployment Toowoomba will help develop security in the maritime environment and promote regional stability and global prosperity.

The Ships Company of 184 have worked very hard since late last year to reach this day, and the long hours and hard work performed by all of them will ensure we have a successful deployment.

Of course no deployment is ever achieved without the sacrifices, the love and sup-port of you, our families and friends. So it is fitting that we dedicate our first edi-tion of the Fearless Times to you, our families and friends.
