Our Boarding Parties are highly trained and well rehearsed at their role. Since their intense pre-deployment training, they have continued to refine their skills in many important areas. Training has been focussed on insertion and exit methods using rope ladders and also fast-roping drills, which is when the Boarding Party embark onto the deck of a suspect vessel by sliding down a rope from Toowoomba's hovering Sea-hawk helicopter. Other training has included Rigid Hulled Inflatable Boat practice, Small Arms weapons drills and com-munications exercises, all of which are critical for a safe and successful boarding.
