Publication:The Fearless Times Issue 3 2009/New Arrivals
Since the last edition of the Fearless Times, two new members have been welcomed to the Toowoomba family.
ABATV Leigh Mason of HMAS Toowoomba Ship's Flight and his wife Erin, his partner for nearly 9 years, welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Celeste Pauline Mason, into our world on 14th September.
AB Mason was working hard in Toowoomba when he found out that Erin had made the trip to the hospital. He was able to ring and receive the good news – “mother and baby daughter doing well”. Obviously, AB Mason would rather have been there to support Erin but he came on the deployment knowing that would not be possible. When asked about it AB Mason was philosophical “That's just the way it is, that's the job”, he said. He was full of praise for his wife and obviously very proud. “Erin is such a capable woman, she just gets on with it” he said.
Celeste is the couple's third child. She has two very caring and protective older brothers, Alexander 5 years, and Maxwell 3 years to look after her. “The boys just love her and they are so gentle and caring,” AB Mason said.
AB Mason was a designated 'early leaver' and on writing is currently on his way home to be reunited with his lovely wife and two sons, and of course he will meet Celeste, his new little 2 month old star for the very first time.
ABET Chris Hebbard and his wife Rachael welcomed Molly Noelle into the world at 8 minutes after midnight on the 12 November 2009. Molly is the couple's first child and they are absolutely delighted. By all accounts Mum, Dad and Bub are all doing well.
AB Hebbard was scheduled to be an early leaver but was probably going to miss the birth by only a few days. As it turned out he was able to be released a few days earlier than planned and caught the RAAF sustainment flight back to Australia so he was able to be there to witness the birth of his first child. An amazing moment for any proud father.
We're glad that you could be there Hebbs, or should we say Dad!
All the best from HMAS Toowoomba to the Masons and the Hebbards. Congratulations and wishing you a very Merry Christmas and blessed New Year.
