Senior NATO Officer Visits HMAS Stirling

Senior NATO Officer and Commander-in-Chief Fleet Admiral Sir Trevor Soar, RN, KCB, OBE, visited HMAS Stirling, HMAS Collins and the Royal Australian Navy's Submarine Escape Training Facility at Garden Island, Western Australia.

Admiral Soar is the Commander in Chief-Fleet of the Royal Navy. Admiral Soar also fulfils the role of a NATO Commander and as such he is the maritime advisor to the Joint Force Commander and is tasked to ensure NATO Maritime Forces are ready to engage in joint and combined operations as required by the North Atlantic Council. He is also directly responsible for elements of the Standing NATO Response Force.
