West is Best

HMAS Sirius (CMDR Tim Crawford) formalised a budding relationship with Australia's newest Super-14 Rugby Union Team, Western Force, on 16th of April. In a ceremony conducted at Rugby WA office in Floreat, WA the Commanding Officer received an official supporter certificate and a signed and framed Western Force jersey.
The presentation represents the formalisation of an exciting affiliation between Sirius, the newly commissioned West-based Auxiliary Oiler, and the youngest team of the Super-14 Rugby competition which began following a unanimous decision by the Ships welfare committee which was subsequently endorsed by the Navy Sports Council and the Force executive. Western Force is the fourth Australian team to form and compete in the international Super-14 Rugby competition.
The Club's values (Integrity, Unity, Courage, Excellence & Energy) align closely with Navy and accord with those of a minimum manned ship, where everyone is a vital member of the Team. Sirius has already flown the Western Force flag during ten of her total 20 Replenishments since she commissioned on 16th of September 2006. Sirius has also adopted the Western Force colours of blue and black as the ship's sporting colours.
