2014 Essay Competition Prize Winners

In recent correspondence to the Chief of navies for IONS members and observers, IONS Chair Vice Admiral Tim Barrett, RAN announced the winners of the 2014 IONS Essay Competition.

The First Prize winner was Captain Masud Iqbal, Bangladesh Navy with his essay ‘Beyond words - an outline of progressive maritime cooperation in the Indian Ocean region.’ The Second Prize winner was Commander Ranendra Singh Sawan, from the Indian Navy, with his essay ‘IONS is now an established part of nascent security architecture in the Indian Ocean region; how might its aims be advanced further?’ The Third Prize winner was Commodore M Nazmul Hassan, Bangladesh Navy with his essay, ‘Information sharing strategy: a pragmatic approach for IONS.’ Captain Iqbal's winning essay is provided in the link below.
