Recruit School Equity and Diversity

Harassment on sexual, racial or disability grounds is unlawful.

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) is committed to providing an environment free from discrimination, harassment, sexual offences and other unacceptable sexual behaviour. The RAN Recruit School complies with the ADF policy of zero tolerance for such unacceptable behaviour.

All personnel have a basic right to work in an environment free from harassment and discrimination. All personnel also have an individual responsibility to treat others fairly. Any behaviour that constitutes, accepts or promotes discrimination or harassment, particularly sexual harassment, is unacceptable. Behaviour of a sexual nature that constitutes a sexual offence is an extremely serious matter and is completely unacceptable.

Additionally, there are circumstances when fraternisation between members may be contrary to the inherent requirements of ADF service. Such behaviour affects an individual's performance in the workplace, lowers morale and undermines the operational capability of a unit.
