Able Seaman Communication Information Systems Brendon Hill from HMAS Maryborough participates in the 75th Anniversary Commemorative Service, Battle of the Java Sea, as a member of the Catafalque party, at the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery Menteng Pulo, Jakarta, Indonesia, while on deployment in South East Asia.
The crew of the Darwin-based patrol boat, HMAS Maryborough, have marked the 75th anniversary of the sinking of HMAS Perth (I), with a midnight ceremony over the wreck in the Sunda Strait.

The Australian White Ensign (AWE) flies alongside the Australian National Flag on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, marking the 116th birthday of the Royal Australian Navy and the 50th anniversary of the AWE.
The Australian Navy has celebrated its 116th birthday and the 50th anniversary of the Australian White Ensign with events at sea and ashore, recognising the vital service the Navy provides for the nation.

Since 1992, the Partington Shield has been awarded annually in recognition of excellence in the support of naval aviation by both service and  civilian personnel at HMAS Albatross.
This award, which honors the legacy of former Albatross Commanding  Officer, the late Commodore Robert Partington, was presented to Lieutenant Jodie  Turkenberg, Flight Support Officer with 816 Squadron.
Late last year the best of naval aviation were recognised with a range of new awards reflecting the complexity and capability of the Fleet Air Arm.
