Message from Chief of Navy
On assuming Command of the Royal Australian Navy I outlined my goals.
- To maintain our contract with government and with it the trust of the Australian people;
- To transition new capabilities; and
- To continue our reform and cultural change journey.
As the platform for Navy's reform and cultural change program, I recognise that NGN is fundamental to achieving all these goals. Navy Values, demonstrated through our Signature Behaviours, are the bedrock for NGN. So in assuming Command of the Navy, I also re-affirmed my commitment to uphold our Values of Honour, Honesty, Courage, Integrity and Loyalty.
Through five years of the NGN Program we have a better and more capable Navy. We should all be proud of what we have achieved - but we should all be aware that there is still plenty of work to do. Navy's people, their performance and professionalism is what makes our navy so important to the nation. these are the NGN pillars. Therefore it's up to all of us, regardless of rank, to maintain NGN momentum so we can achieve our Mission to Fight and Win at Sea.
