Commander Glyn Hunter

Commander Glyn Hunter, RAN joined the Navy in 1999 as a sailor and served in HMA Submarines Farncomb, Dechaineux and Rankin, and after a posting as a Petty Officer at Australian Signals Directorate, CMDR Hunter undertook a Commission. As an Officer, CMDR Hunter has served with the USN, as the J22 within HQJTF633 on the ground in Afghanistan and the Middle East, and as the Direct Support Officer within Submarine Operations. CMDR Hunter has also served on Fleet Battle Staff and deployed to the MER in support of CTF150 operations. CMDR Hunter has filled a number of staff appointments including XO RANTEWSS, analyst in DIO, SO to VCDF, is a graduate of ACSC(J). CMDR Hunter has recently completed two years as the Joint Domain Awareness Centre’s Intelligence Mission Manager within HQJOC and in now the Commanding Officer in HMAS Harman.
CMDR Hunter holds a BA from Murdoch University, a Master of Policing, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism Studies from Macquarie University, a Master of Military and Defence Studies from ANU and is currently reading for a Masters of Education (Tertiary) from Murdoch University. Outside of work, CMDR Hunter enjoys exercising, watching sport, reading and travelling abroad.
