ADV Ocean Protector

Australian Defence Vessel (ADV) Ocean Protector is a Romanian-built, former remotely operated vehicle support vessel launched on 28 January 2007. Ocean Protector entered service, under charter from DOF Subsea, for the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service in October 2010.

Purchased from DOF Subsea in 2015 by the Australian Government, management and control of the vessel was handed to the Royal Australian Navy in 2016.

Teekay shipping, as the contracted vessel operator (CVO), provide the operating crew. All customs, border protection and enforcement duties are conducted by embarked Australian Border Force (ABF) and Transit Security Element personnel.
