On Sunday 15 March 2026, HMAS Ballarat will conduct a Freedom of Entry to the Municipality of Ballarat.

The Freedom of Entry is one of the oldest and most honoured customs in military history, symbolising mutual trust and respect between a military unit and the community it serves.

During the parade, Navy personnel from HMAS Ballarat will march proudly through the streets of Ballarat in ceremonial uniform, accompanied by music and colours, showcasing the strong bond between Defence and the local community.

The parade steps off at 10:30 am, marching up Sturt Street to the Town Hall where an official function will be held on conclusion.
