Applications are now open for the ADF Arts for Recovery, Resilience Teamwork and Skills (ARRTS) Program, which will be held in Canberra from 9 May – 4 June 2021.

This innovative and supportive arts-based program assists permanent ADF and Reservists, Veterans (via Open Arms), ACT Emergency Services Australia & the Australian Federal Police personnel facing health and well-being challenges, or seeking to 're-set' themselves by rebuilding their confidence and resilience.

The learning environment at the University of Canberra is designed to assist personnel in their individual recovery. Importantly, no previous experience or training in the arts is required whatsoever, as training and mentoring will be provided by experts in the field of Art or Music.

The ARRTS Program funds participant associated travel and subsistence (ADF & Reserve members), and live-in accommodation is provided at HMAS Harman.

This four-week residential program comprises three artistic streams: creative writing, music and rhythm, and visual arts.

The closing date for applications has been extended to close of business Friday, 9 April 2021.

For an application, visit https://www.defence.gov.au/jcg/arrts or email adf.arrts@defence.gov.au.

This program will follow Chief of the Defence Force/Secretary of the Department of Defence COVID-19 Directives, and comply with Commonwealth and State health advice.

Applications close on 28 September 2020 for the ADF Arts for Recovery, Resilience Teamwork and Skills (ARRTS) Program to be held in Canberra in November 2020.
