RAN Band Sydney will perform with ADF Musicians, the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, the ANU Chamber Orchestra and national choirs.

Presented by The Flowers Of War

The Vietnam Requiem will premiere 50 years after Australia’s withdrawal from the Vietnam War. This concert, created by some of Australia’s leading composers, musicians and historians and produced by the Flowers of War, will be underscored by still and moving images.

The Vietnam Requiem will enhance understanding of all those people touched by this war. This concert will take audiences on a musical journey with popular songs from the era and orchestral movements that will respond to stories or events that shaped our perceptions or experiences.

In honouring service and acknowledging pain, dislocation and the terrible cost of war, The Vietnam Requiem will be an emotionally powerful demonstration of the power of music.

The recordings from this concert will be gifted to the nation to play at future commemorative services or for non commercial purposes in perpetuity.
