Beat to Quarters is a tradition dating back to the age of sails. It was the sound of a ships drum that would summon the Sailors to action stations when battle was imminent. Today we keep the beat to quarters tradition going to honour the courage and sacrifice of men and women that have served in the Royal Australian Navy.
